Founded in 1848, we continue the legacy of worshiping Jesus Christ, proclaiming the Word of God, and making disciples of all nations - beginning right here at home.

Our Generation-to-Generation renovation is more than a building project; it is an invitation for our neighbors or experience the grace of Christ and join His mission.

Each day, I am encouraged as I see this vision taking shape. The foundations, forms, and framing are exciting, but what excites me most is what they represent: children, families, and adults of every generation being loved, drawn to Jesus, and discipled.

My Prayer is that we will faithfully "tell the generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done" so that those who come after us will put their trust in Him and never forget His faithfulness. Psalm 78:4-7

Why are we launching the Generation-to-Generation Campaign?
For over 178 years, God has faithfully used First Baptist Church Tyler to Live, Teach, and Tell the gospel of Jesus Christ. Since 1913, our historic Sanctuary has stood as a place where generations have gathered to worship, pray, and experience the power of God’s Word. The Lord has blessed us with a rich legacy of faith, and now we have the exciting opportunity to build on that foundation for the future.
Why Now?
God is moving across every generation in our church. Our ministries are thriving, new families are connecting, and each year thousands come through our Recreation Center. We are welcoming more neighbors to our campus through ministry and community partnerships. Also, Downtown Tyler is growing with new housing, a new courthouse, and revitalized streets. Rooted in the heart of this growth, we are perfectly placed to engage our community with grace and truth.
What is our ultimate goal?
We seek to honor God’s faithfulness with a campus that invites people to encounter Jesus, deepen their faith, and join His mission. From generation to generation, we continue the story God began long ago, standing firm in the faith, building for the future, and making disciples of all nations.

With faith and vision, our $19.9 million goal stands as an investment in the future God is calling us toward. As past generations sacrificed and built spaces where we now worship and grow, we have the privilege and responsibility to unite and build for those who will come after us.
